Welcome to Class 1/2 B – Mrs Bowman

Welcome to our Class page. Here you will find important information about our Class routines, curriculum and general information. We will also keep you updated about the amazing activities we have been getting up to at school. Please scroll down to keep up to date with our class blog.

PE day:

Children will do PE every Thursday morning. Please send them into school wearing their PE kits.

A polite reminder:

Please ensure that all long hair is tied up and all jewellery is removed. If any earrings cannot be removed, please send your child to school with plasters covering the piercings.

Reading books.

Each week, children will be assigned an online reading book using the ‘Collins Big Cat’ online library. https://ebooks.collinsopenpage.com/

They will also bring home one book from school to read in their free time. A record of these books will be kept at school in the event of any losses/damage. Please ensure that your child accesses these texts as often as possible.

Collins logins are available from school.

Spring Term 2 2023

As part of our topic on Dinosaurs we visited the Hancock Museum. The children had an amazing time and learned lots of new information about dinosaurs and fossils.

Spring Term 1 2023

The children have come back after Christmas and have settled into a good routine. We have started our topic about Dinosaurs and the children have enjoyed finding out about fossils and about Mary Anning. They have loved sifting through the sand to find some fossils.

We have been looking at Printing in Art. We used Primary colours to print with our hands and feet. We then used pastels, finite pencils and charcoal to draw flowers onto the prints. They are on display in our classroom.

We are enjoying our topic in History, which is all about Dinosaurs. We have enjoyed sifting through sand to find fossils, just like Mary Anning. We have looked at timelines and put some events onto it, including the moon landing that we learned about in the Autumn Term.

In Science we have been using our sense of smell, taste, hearing, sight and touch to see how we make sense of the world around us.

Autumn Term 2022

We have been practising our ball skills of throwing and catching as well as dribbling.

We have been using natural materials to create some special art work.
