Spring Science
This term in Science we have been thinking about Polar Explorers. We have talked about what the climate is like in the arctic regions and what sort of clothing you would need to visit there. We discussed that arctic animals had a layer of fur or blubber to keep them warm and did an experiment to make ‘blubber gloves’. The children loved putting their hand in the glove to see how much warmer it was when they put in a a bowl of iced water, compared to a hand without a glove.
Art this Autumn
This term in our Art lessons, 1/2P have been exploring colour and learning about abstract art. We have learned about primary colours and how to mix secondary colours. We know how to make a tint by adding white and a shade by adding black. We have enjoyed looking at abstract art work by Mondrian, Klee, Pollock and Kandinsky, and we have created our own abstract art work in the style of those artists.
